Social Mission Marketing is now the Thing!

What you are reading, where you are lending your voice, and what you are saying matters. The core of ourselves is embodied in all that we do, and if your brand isn’t tapping the muse within, soon enough it will be replaced or side-stepped in our lives for something more.

 

Social mission marketing is the ability to break down complex problems into measurable changes that make positive impact. We stand by brands that stand by what we stand for in this digital age.

 

Twenty-Seven months ago I left yet another toxic corporate environment and ripped the proverbial band-aid off the wound in my heart and went for it — I began bootstrapping my own company, MusePlatforms.com, to show the world that a queer female marketing architect could produce work that exceeded your typical boy-shop down the street and we’ve been growing and profitable ever since. I founded this company not on a specific unique skill, although some could argue that Adobe Marketing technology skills are niche in tech. I founded it on values such as Respect, Diversity, Integrity, and Transparency — all of which I felt was missing in the field of my choice, Technology Marketing. In everything that I do, and as we have grown, it is these values that really is what we are aiming to provide, the tech and marketing stuff? Kinda secondary. At our Muse Platforms retreat, we began the process to bring our triple bottom line of revenue, diversity, and social impact into one value statement, and being a geek here it started with an algorithm:

 

VALUE = REVENUE * DIVERSITY / SOCIAL IMPACT

 

Our representation of all of our bottom lines together bring the importance of a company’s people into the equation (Diversity) divided amongst them the input of social impact drives revenue. In other words:

 

REVENUE = VALUE * SOCIAL IMPACT / DIVERSITY

 

In the world of the millisecond, where currency is what we trust and most value, social impact and diversity is part what drives revenue for customers. If you are not aligning with their core, what makes them tick, what impact and purpose they are aiming to achieve, you are not on the path here in 2018. Social Mission Marketing is now the thing.
